Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>EmaSwati have continued to show love and support for the Incwala Ceremony as they contributed tetfulo worth over E16 million to His Majesty King Mswati III at Ngwabezweni Royal Residence yesterday.<\/b><\/p>\n

It was mentioned that the tetfulo could be more than E16 million as more were yet to be presented to the King. Tetfulo is a siSwati word that describes any form of contribution directed to elders in appreciation of something. In this context, the contributions are in appreciation for the ongoing Incwala Ceremony, which is at its early stage, known as the Little Incwala.<\/p>\n

Groceries<\/b><\/p>\n

The tetfulo, which came in the form of cattle worth E2.7 million, money amounting to E2 358 750, groceries valued at E1 275 933.43 as well as sneakers and torches valued at E10 million, were received by the King at Ngabezweni Royal Residence. The King started by inspecting the tetfulo where different companies and individual emaSwati had an opportunity to present the tetfulo to the King. First to present to the King was Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, who presented cattle on behalf of government. Dlamini was followed by Prince Sicalo, who presented cattle on behalf of security forces to the King.<\/p>\n

The King then proceeded to received cheques from the different companies and individuals. In his brief remarks, the King thanked all those who contributed towards the event. He said the contributions came at the right time as emaSwati had already started coming in numbers to the event, which was still at its early stage. \u201cNgesiSwati bayaye batsi lijaha sisu. Nembala siyabona kutsi lijaha kutaba sisu ngoba konkhe lelenikukhokhile kuya etiswini,\u201d the King said in vernacular loosely translated to: \u201cIn siSwati they normally say lijaha sisu, meaning food is important in human life. This means that food will remain important as the contributions would be consumed during the course of the event.\u201d<\/p>\n

Worth noting is that this year\u2019s Incwala contribution increased by E11 890 683 as they stood at E4.5 million last year. Contributed cattle increased from 170 last year to 206 this year. On another note, the King exhibited his sharp memory as he recognised some of those who presented tetfulo during his inspection.<\/p>\n

\u201cSolo awufuni kwenyuka?\u201d the King said when he inspected a cow contributed by Senator Siphelele Mkhonta. Worth noting is that Mkhonta made it known when introducing himself to the King at Mandvulo Grand Hall that he was not interested in a Cabinet position, which he referred to as iMbabane. Instead, he told the King that he was interested in holding Cabinet accountable.<\/p>\n

Companies <\/b><\/p>\n

The King would also correct the wording as companies were introduced to him. At one point he corrected SPTC, stating that the right word was EPTC, to the laughter of those present. From the presentation of tetfulo, emaSwati proceeded to the Little Incwala, which entered its fifth day yesterday. The event is currently held at Ludzidzini and Ngabezweni Royal residences. The King is expected to move to the other royal residences before he commissions the young boys to fetch the sacred shrubs and red leaves ahead of the main event, which will come after the full moon.<\/p>\n
