Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Melinda Mavuso is the new Miss Cultural Heritage 2023\/24.<\/b><\/p>\n

Mavuso, who is also a seasoned model, was crowned during a well organised event held atThe George Hotel in Manzini on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Mavuso will be assisted by four ambassadors from the four regions. In Manzini there is Nokwethu Motsa, in Shiselweni there is Lethukuthula Matsebula , Luyanda Ndlela from the Lubombo region and in the Hhohho region there is Yandiswa Magagula.<\/p>\n

The Miss Cultural queens outdid themselves to earn the positions.<\/p>\n

The newly-crowned Eswatini Miss Cultural Heritage was showered with multiple gifts from different companies (who were the sponsors of the beauty pageant).<\/p>\n

The queen walked home with a prepaid card from EswatiniBank which comes with E5 000, a Justin fragrances hamper worth E2 000 and she has to choose a programme of choice to pursue at<\/p>\n

Workers College.<\/p>\n

She also received E5 000 from Eclipse Investments, Oukitell C32 cellphone worth E4 000 from Quicktell, a ticket to Durban worth E6 000 from Dash Travel, a Siswati dictionary and a weekend getaway at Sibebe Resort.<\/p>\n

The dictionary was also presented to the regional winners and was sponsored by Imisebe Publishers. The other princesses also walked home with different prizes.<\/p>\n

The event saw cultural performances from Imbali, Lutsango and many more.<\/p>\n

The contestants also made sure they delivered the best performances with their traditional dance moves.<\/p>\n

Eswatini Council of Arts and Culture CEO Stanley Dlamini expressed the importance of the pageant and wished the new queen the best of luck as she embarks on her duties. Dlamini also thanked the sponsors and urged more companies to support the pageant.<\/p>\n

Mavuso came into the spotlight after being discovered by Linda Chester.<\/p>\n

She served as a model under the Rhythm Agency of Eswatini owned by Chester.Since then she has been known as an award-winning fashion model, hostess, promoter and pageant judge. Her ramp name is Mely.<\/p>\n

The former St Michael\u2019s pupil completed her high school education in 2020. The queen said she started modelling at the age of 10. She said she loved participating in the school\u2019s beauty pageants.<\/p>\n

\u201cEngaging in photo-shoot collaborations was what got me into being a promoter.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Moreover, the beauty queen said having experience in beauty pageants was what inspired her to join the pageant. She said the devotion and the excitement that comes with entertaining people is where love for what she does comes from. Mavuso had participated as a contestant in the Miss Manzini Teen in 2017, where she was crowned second princess.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a breathtaking experience as my dream came true. This was when I was only 14 years old,\u201d she said. Mavuso said she has participated in one of the most anticipated fashion shows in the country.<\/p>\n
