Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Prime Minister Cleopas Sipho Dlamini has announced new eased COVID-19 restrictions that will require travellers into eSwatini to provide proof of full vaccination at the ports of entry.<\/p>\n

This comes a week after South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa announced same.<\/p>\n

When addressing the Nation from the Cabinet offices in Mbabane on Tuesday, the Prime Minister said vaccinated travellers would no longer be required to provide PCR test at the ports of entry.<\/p>\n

\u201cEntry into eSwatini now requires either proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 or a negative PCR Test of not more than 72 hours.<\/p>\n

This does not apply to children under the age of 12. The wearing of face masks in open space is no longer mandatory in groups of not more than five (5) people”,said the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister further announced that ‘Kufukama’ and night vigils were allowed in adherence to COVID-19 regulations.<\/p>\n

Reached for comments, Mathokoza Sikhondze, the Coordinator of the Coalition of Informal Economy Associations (CIEAS) welcomed the new developments.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a huge relief for hawkers who need to travel frequently to neighbouring South Africa to replenish their stock. Now they will no longer be required to pay for PCR tests since vaccination is free”, he said.<\/p>\n
