Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>This is the question that will linger in the minds of football fanatics, after troubled hub giants Manzini Wanderers fans reportedly called for the sacking of two directors from the team.<\/b><\/p>\n

The absurd call was made during a meeting held on Saturday in Manzini, where over 30 disgruntled supporters took the bold decision.<\/p>\n

The wanted out pair is Peter Mathaba and Bheki Shongwe, who is based in South Africa.<\/p>\n

The duo appears in the club’s Form J as directors alongside Sandile \u2018Chief\u2019 Dlamini and the late Advocate Percy Mngomezulu.<\/p>\n

Information gathered is that the supporters feel Mathaba and Shongwe should be removed as they had failed to offer financial assistance to the struggling side.<\/p>\n

Sources close to the matter revealed that letters have already been written, demanding the stepping down of the directors with immediate effect.<\/p>\n

Steven Thwala, who has been in charge since the departure of Sandile \u2018Chief\u2019 Dlamini last season, is also wanted out by the angry supporters. They believe he is part of the team’s unending problems.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the current situation at the club, and things are becoming worse,” said the source.<\/p>\n

National Supporters Committee Chairman Mandla Khumalo condemned the supporters behaviour.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve crossed the line. Fans do not have powers to remove directors. The NSC is also not aware of that meeting, whereby the decision was taken. If I may ask, who was chairing that meeting? It\u2019s very disappointing. The duty of supporters is to support the club and not cause infighting,” he said.<\/p>\n

Council of Elders Chairman Joe Nkumane could not be reached for comment as his mobile phone was off.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the crowd-pulling side has been rocked by serious problems of late, including power struggle and financial problems.<\/p>\n

Languishing<\/p>\n

Due to the problems, the club is struggling in the field of play as they are languishing at the bottom of the log standings.<\/p>\n

The maroon and white outfit is one point above bottom-placed side Moneni Pirates. Recently the team co-opted another gaffer to be co-coach with Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe. Meanwhile, other senior players are shunning the team’s training sessions, claiming they are hungry.<\/p>\n
