Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>This is the story of former Moneni Pirates Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mhlonishwa Motsa, who has stepped down from his new position of Marketing, Corporate Relations. He was given this new position earlier this week, after President Osborne Nzima disbanded the old Managing Committee (MC). Motsa held the position of the CEO in the MC, which was dissolved.<\/b><\/p>\n

An internal statement sent to this publication, which was signed by Nzima, stated that the marketing, corporate relations officer had stepped down from the position with immediate effect. \u201cMoneni Pirates hereby, announce that the Marketing, Corporate and Public Relations Officer, Mhlonishwa Motsa has resigned from the Management Committee (MC),\u201d reads an extract from the statement. The statement highlighted that Motsa\u2019s resignation was a result of a noted conflict of interest in his recent employment, where he is a Personal Assistant (PA) to the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was noted that his commitment to the team and his recent employment would prejudice and compromise either of the two parties,\u201d reads the statement. The club revealed that his position would be taken by Abel Sibandze, who was well-known around the \u2018Sea Robbers\u2019 of Moneni circles and had served the team numerous times in the past. The position of the Public Relations would be handled by the General Secretary (SG), Sibusiso Nkambule, according to the statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wish Motsa the best of blessings in his new employment and further wish the same to the officers deployed to take over his duties in the team. We hope and pray they will continue to consult and work with him behind the scenes,\u201d concludes the statement.Meanwhile, Motsa said serving the team had been a pleasure, as he came up through the ranks and it was the only football club he knew in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have always been and will forever be a buccaneer, whether I am in leadership or singing on stands.\u201d Motsa said.<\/p>\n

He further encouraged the die-hard Pirates supporters to rally behind the team as they were currently going through a rough patch.<\/p>\n
