Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Mbabane Swallows head coach Caleb Ngwenya has vowed that the recent players\u2019 go-slow strike would not affect their performance and the outcome of the Ingwenyama Cup clash against Lozitha Spurs.<\/b><\/p>\n

Earlier in the week reports emerged that players from the capital city giants had decided not to train due to unpaid wages. The situation was resolved on Thursday when the players finally received their salaries and resumed training. Questions were raised on whether or not the team would be able to perform at its best given the challenges they faced.<\/p>\n

Coach Ngwenya said the situation that was portrayed in the media was far worse than it actually was and that the team was made up of professionals who were ready to play for the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been working together as a team and everything has been resolved and everything is in order now. We prepared well for the game and the preparations are still underway.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe recent strike will not affect us as the players had been training prior to the strike and they will be fit enough for the game,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The coach went on to say that playing against familiar opponents would work in their favour having played them during the Trade Fair Cup last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have played against Lozitha before so they are not a closed book to us. We will do the job we have been tasked with,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Lozitha Hotspurs head coach Vusisizwe Mahlalela said they respected Mbabane Swallows as a big team, but football is a game of men who are committed to winning so anything is possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have prepared and the players know what to do. We are ignoring all the reports that suggested that Swallows have not been training. We are not underdogs, because underdogs is just a tag line and anything is possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe players are highly motivated and they are ready and raring to go for the match,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
