Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Local DJ, Yamkela Khumalo can now add modelling as another achievement under his belt. The DJ has bagged his first MTN billboard advert.<\/b><\/p>\n

He recently released his mix, titled Paradise Mix Party, online last month. The DJ plays different genres, from Amapiano to Afro-house and Pop music.<\/p>\n

When asked how the gig came about, the DJ shared with this publication that the mobile company MTN hired a company to do the project. He said, \u201cMTN hired a company for the project. There was a friend who then approached me about it, as he thought I would be suitable for it. They were looking for a young person to be in the advertisement.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the DJ, the shoot was actually done back in October 2022 at Sundeck in Mbabane. When asked how he felt when he was approached for the opportunity, he said, \u201cGenerally, I am camera shy, so I don\u2019t take pictures of myself. I was a bit anxious. It took me a long time to agree, but eventually I agreed, and the rest is history.\u201d<\/p>\n

The DJ expressed his gratitude to the mobile company for the opportunity. \u201cI would like to thank MTN for the opportunity. It\u2019s amazing that there are several of these billboards not just in Mbabane but also in Nhlangano, Matata, and Big Bend. It\u2019s a great opportunity to use that image for me. It\u2019s like, wow, I am very grateful to MTN and how this whole project came about.\u201d said the DJ.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old from Manzini shared in a previous interview that his fans should expect more mixes in the near future and that he plans on releasing his first song this year.<\/p>\n

Other local DJs who have secured MTN billboard ads include MBO, Uncle Karly, and Hip-Hop artist KrTC.<\/p>\n

Billboards are typically placed in high-traffic areas, such as highways, and in cities. Billboard advertising can be a powerful way to build brand awareness and attract customers. It is effective way of for advertising.<\/p>\n
