Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>His Majesty King Mswati III pleads with G77 and China countries to fight hunger and poverty so that lives of the people in these countries could be better.<\/b><\/p>\n

The G77 countries, whose member countries are now at 135, represent 80 percent of the world\u2019s population. The King advised these countries to make their countries to be conducive for investors to invest in their countries.<\/p>\n

The King believed that if the G77 countries were able to attract investors in their countries, they were going to be able to create jobs and increase the rate of employment, something that could be beneficial to the people from these countries. At the end, the economies of these countries would improve and no one would be left behind.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini is the one who relayed the message from His Majesty the King during the Third Summit of the G77 and China Summit, which was held in Kampala, Uganda from yesterday (Sunday, January 21, 2024) to today (Monday, January 22, 2024. The premier represented the King during the meeting.<\/p>\n

The prime minister expressed gratitude to the Uganda\u2019s President Yoweri Museveni, the Government, and the people of the Republic of Uganda for hosting this High-level gathering. He said this meeting provided them with an opportunity to have frank and open discussions on common developmental issues that continue to threaten global sustainable development.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have the honour to further express my appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality, which has been afforded to me and my delegation since our arrival here in the beautiful city of Kampala, the pearl of Africa,\u201d Dlamini said.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the King, the prime minister commended President Museveni for his astute leadership, which he demonstrated as the Chairman of the G77 and China. \u201cThe Kingdom of Eswatini marvels at your wisdom and commitment in guiding the organisation despite that your leadership period coincided with multiple challenges that continue to derail the sustainable development programmes,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Dlamini said as the G77 and China, it remained imperative for the G77 countries to continue to deepen and strengthen their cooperation and act in solidarity to ensure the creation of inclusive policies and joint action programmes that would respond to their aspirations.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the prime minister said Eswatini felt that there was need for a stronger commitment and collective responsibility between the South -South as well as the North if the countries were to ensure that there was truly No One Left Behind.<\/p>\n

Dlamini said Eswatini further reaffirmed the need to adopt and implement a universally collective approach to promote South\u2013South cooperation and harness the power of partnership across the wide range of development activities. He said it was further crucial that developmental issues of common interest, in particular that of mobilising concessional funding, to support our programmes, continued to be prioritised. \u201cWe thus reiterate the importance of developing a financial architecture that will support all countries, especially the least developed countries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
