Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>SENIOR national team Sihlangu head coach Dominic Kunene seems to be in good books with his masters.<\/b><\/p>\n

This will come as a bitter truth to the masses after the Eswatini Football Association decided to stick with the head coach for now, amid concerns and calls for him to step down.<\/p>\n

The football mother body announced the changes through President Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane at Sigwaca House yesterday.<\/p>\n

The president was delivering the resolutions taken during the annual retreat held from last Thursday to Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing our retreat meeting with the executive last week, we received a report from the technical development team after they presented the performance of our national team in which they came up with contributions, which as an executive we used to come up with short term plans for our national team. On the decisions taken on the day, we have decided to keep head coach Dominic for now, as his contract ends in March. We didn\u2019t want to tamper with that, as we know that in March we will be beginning our AFCON 2025 Qualifiers.<\/p>\n

As a means to have a better performance, we opted to boost the technical team with two assistant coaches to assist Dominic, that being Ernest Mavuso and Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane. The two won\u2019t be joining the national team on a full time basis but they will be able to continue drilling their teams, while helping the national team,\u201d said Simelane.<\/p>\n

Other changes made in the technical team saw former Mbabane Highlanders and Sihlangu goalkeeper coach Sipho ‘Shilton’ Dube being relieved of his duties. Assistant coach Antony Mdluli will fill the gap, with Royal Leopard fitness coach Dennis ‘Denmark’ Fakudze.<\/p>\n

The president highlighted that after the games in March, they woupd sit again and undergo all the processes of hiring a new coach and assistants, who will be on a full time basis.<\/p>\n

Simelane also shared the report of the retreat and the submissions made during the Football Indaba. He said the report would be submitted to Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima.<\/p>\n

This follows the minister’s request for the report about the national team from the association.<\/p>\n
