Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Mbabane Swallows defender Kwakhe \u2018Stopper\u2019 Thwala has returned to the country and will be available to play for his side in their match against Green Mamba tomorrow.<\/b><\/p>\n

This publication reported early this month that the Sihlangu and Swallows player had travelled to South Africa for trials with DStv Premiership club Chippa United. Thwala had received an invitation to undergo assessments with the club. \u2018Stopper\u2019, who joined Mbabane Swallows from Young Buffaloes, was unavailable for Swallows\u2019 last two games against Denver Sundowns in the league and their Ingwenyama Cup Last 16 game against Tambankulu Celtics at Mayaluka Stadium.<\/p>\n

According to the latest developments within the team, the versatile defender arrived at King Mswati III International Airport yesterday afternoon, after spending time with Chippa United since last Sunday. \u201cYes, it\u2019s true that Kwakhe arrived back in the country yesterday afternoon after spending the past 10 days with Chippa United. He will be available for selection in our game tomorrow against Green Mamba and has already started training with the team, \u201cthe source said.Swallows Public Relations Officer (PRO) Knowledge Ngwenya confirmed that Kwakhe had indeed returned to the country, but he was not yet aware of the outcome of Thwala\u2019s trials with Chippa United.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can confirm that Kwakhe \u2018Stopper\u2019 Thwala is back in the country and did attend the team\u2019s afternoon training session. His availability for the game against Green Mamba FC will depend on the technical team\u2019s selection decision,\u201d he said. Meanwhile, in light of the transfer ban imposed on Chippa by FIFA, the club\u2019s General Manager (GM) Sandiso Mpengese previously declined to comment on the issue, stating that the club was working tirelessly to address the matter. FIFA issued a transfer ban on the club following a dispute with Tanzanian international defender Abdi Banda, who was part of the team during 2022\/23 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season. The club allegedly failed to fulfil the payment of his settlement agreement estimated to be around E1.2 million. The 28-year-old took the matter to FIFA, who subsequently imposed the ban.<\/p>\n
