Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>One of the basic values and principles of diplomacy is the engagement of diplomatic partners directly or indirectly in a manner that advance national interest and in this regard, communication skills and understanding of diplomatic issues remains fundamental.<\/b><\/p>\n

Even though China does not have diplomatic relations with eSwatini,China is an influential strong ally to the country\u2019s largest trading partner South Africa and therefore,any decision that People\u2019s Republic of China(PRC) might take against eSwatini could be implemented via South Africa particularly on issues of trade and investment.<\/p>\n

Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo committed a huge diplomatic blunder,by accusing China of housing visiting \u2018terrorists\u2019 from eSwatini.<\/p>\n

Sive Siyinqaba Chairman Ngomyayona Gamedze, former Commerce Minister Gideon Dlamini,Swaziland Democratic Party(SWADEPA)President Barnes Dlamini and the then Secretary General(SG) Mbongseni Shabangu were harassed by the police at the Oshoek Boarder for two(2)hours merely for visiting China.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time,police invaded my home with guns and grabbed a laptop that was presented to me as a gift by Lin Songtian,the then Chinese Ambassador to South Africa after our meeting in Pretoria.<\/p>\n

One wonders where is the Minister of Foreign Affairs Pholile Dlamini-Shakantu as Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo attacks China, does the country understands what Nxumalo\u2019s statements mean?.<\/p>\n

It is important for any Government Spokesperson to understand diplomacy and\/or how sensitive issues involving other countries are handled.<\/p>\n
