This past Saturday, Lindiwe Dlamini of Manzini Wanderers clinched her first POTM award after leading her team to a resounding 5-0 victory against Tambankulu Callies Happy Girls. This incentive comes at an opportune time for the women, as their level of play has shown significant improvement compared to the previous season. Players in the league now have added motivation each month to prove their worth, while also positioning themselves to win the sum of E2 000. While this amount is E4 000 less than what the country\u2019s top flight players receive for winning the award, it is on par with what the National First Division (NFD) players get. This will greatly boost each team\u2019s focus and determination, as players can now target an incentive open to all of them, based on their performance each month.<\/p>\n

A reliable source within the maroon and white side\u2019s camp revealed that such incentives will be a significant help, especially given the financial situation of the majority of the players. Furthermore, Ntandoyenkosi Hlatshwayo, Chief Operations Officer of the Eswatini Women\u2019s Football Association (EWFA), expressed gratitude to the sponsors, Wanderville, for the incentive. She also emphasised that it will greatly assist the girls in affording essentials such as toiletries and contribute to their overall wellbeing.<\/p>\n

Hlatswayo congratulated the two players, Celiwe Nkambule of Young Buffaloes, who won the award for November, and Lindiwe Dlamini of Manzini Wanderers, on their first individual domestic financial achievement within the sport. She further encouraged other players to push hard, if not harder, in order to propel themselves towards this lucrative award. \u201cWe are so grateful to the sponsor for this generous gesture; I have no doubt that it will go a long in assist the players in their well-being. We also want to congratulate them on their first major achievement and encourage other players to push harder; who know, maybe they will win too,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
