Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a dress code to be worn by Lutsango during the Buganu Ceremony to take place from this coming Friday at Buhleni Royal Residence.<\/b><\/p>\n

Members of Lutsango are supposed to attend the event clad in their traditional regalia. Minister for Home Affairs, Her Royal Highness Princess Lindiwe, spoke on behalf of Their Majesties and informed Lutsango about the dress code for the upcoming Buganu ceremony. The first session of the ceremony will be held at the Buhleni Royal Residence from Friday this week.<\/p>\n

Princess Lindiwe clarified that for Saturday\u2019s event, Lutsango is expected to wear red cotton lihiya, while Sunday\u2019s gathering calls for orange lihiya. The Minister emphasized the significance of adhering to this dress code, as it honors the cultural traditions associated with the Buganu ceremony.<\/p>\n

However, in a note of caution, Princess Lindiwe urged attendees to refrain from wearing colorful clothing, a caveat aimed primarily at members of the Lutsango community. Normally, when Lutsango from different organisations arrived for the event in recent years, they would wear emahiya which had theme coulours for their different organisations.<\/p>\n

Asked of that had changed, Ministry of Home Affairs Communications Officer Mlandvo Dlamini said nothing had changed on that regard. Dlamini advised that those who had their different emahiya could wear them on Friday when arriving for the event. He said members of the public would remember that the announcement by the minister talked about Saturday and Sunday, the days everyone would be expected to adhere to.<\/p>\n

His Majesty King Mswati III through the voice of indvuna yeLutsango Lontfombi Ndzimandze has summoned the Lutsango regiment for the much-awaited Buganu ceremony. The first session of this grand event is scheduled to take place at Buhleni Royal Residence from Friday this week to Sunday, February 18, 2024.<\/p>\n

The regiment is expected to converge at Buhleni Royal Residence with the Buganu on Friday, setting the stage for an extraordinary celebration. On the second day (Saturday), the main festivities will unfold, featuring mesmerizing displays of song and dance that will transport all attendees into a world of jubilation.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, as the Buganu ceremony draws to a close, the Lutsango regiment will disperse, carrying the enduring spirit and memories of this extraordinary event. The Buganu ceremony serves as a reminder of the deep-rooted cultural values that bind the people of the Kingdom of Eswatini together, fostering unity and a shared sense of identity.<\/p>\n
