Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The case pertaining to the leakage of the examination papers last year is now with the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).<\/b><\/p>\n

This was said by Minister of Education and Training Owen Nxumalo, who said the people involved in the leakage of the examination papers have been identified. He said now that the matter was referred to the DPP, the due process of the law would follow.<\/p>\n

He said he would not divulge the names of the people involved because the matter was now with the courts. He felt that by doing so, he would be obstructing the processes of the law. He expressed concerns with such acts, stating the Ministry would not tolerate such incidents.<\/p>\n

Nxumalo said the Examinations Council of Eswatini (ECESWA), upon hearing about this matter, wanted to confine its investigations into a specific region. However, the investigation led to them focusing on the whole country.<\/p>\n

The seriousness of the matter, according to Nxumalo, prompted ECESWA to inbvolve the police in the matter. That was how the culprits were then referred to the DPP chambers. This was done after the police had concluded their investigations. Nxumalo also stated that the school that was identified to be the source of the leak would not be revealed for now, pending the finalisation of the matter by the courts.<\/p>\n

Nxumalo assured the nation that ECESWA would be guided by a set of protocols to handle the centre or candidate malpractice. He appealed to head teachers, teachers, invigilators, and candidates to exercise vigilance and caution when dealing with examinations to guard against malpractice. He congratulated ECESWA for managing the situation in a professional manner.<\/p>\n
