Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>ILO (International Labor Organization) experts recently conducted an induction program for the newly appointed members of the Business Eswatini Board.<\/b><\/p>\n

At the induction program, Mr. Mvuselelo Fakudze, the President of BE, expressed his gratitude for the partnership that BE has enjoyed with the ILO over the years. He praised the ILO for their dependability and commitment to supporting the private sector, even in challenging times. He also highlighted the valuable technical expertise that the ILO has provided to BE, which has strengthened its advocacy efforts. He emphasized that the ILO\u2019s support is aligned with the best interests of both employers and the country as a whole.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the program was to familiarise the Board with ILO\u2019s standards and guidelines, as well as its mandate and functions. The induction included an overview of the ILO\u2019s core conventions and recommendations, as well as an introduction to the role of the ILO in promoting decent work and social justice.<\/p>\n

Upholding high standards of corporate governance within Business Eswatini is crucial for building trust, credibility, and long-term sustainability. As the apex body representing the interests of employers and the business community, BE must adhere to stringent governance principles to ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct across its member organizations. The International Labor Organization (ILO) is playing a key role in capacitating the BE Board on relevant ILO conventions and governance principles, as well as enhancing the Board\u2019s knowledge of the changing world of work, especially in light of the Fourth Industrial revolution.<\/p>\n

Ms. Maria Machailo-Molebatsi, Senior Specialist Employer Activities at the ILO, expressed her pleasure in the continued partnership between ILO and BE, and the positive impact this collaboration has had on the business community in Eswatini. Ms. Machailo-Molebatsi emphasized the importance of ethical standards and best practices in corporate governance, and commended BE for its compliance with these standards. She expressed confidence in the ability of the new BE Board to uphold the high standards set by their predecessors, and offered the ILO.<\/p>\n
