Form V pupils who are dissatisfied with their 2023 results can now apply for remarking.
\nHowever, this will cost between E1200 and E2500 per subject.
\nThe Examinations Council Eswatini (ECESWA) today announced that the 2023 Eswatini General Certificate of Secondary Education (EGSCE), Eswatini Prevocational Certificate of Secondary Education (EPCSE), and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) remarking will start on Monday (February 26) and end on March 1, 2024.<\/p>\n

The remarking application requirements are as follows:<\/b>
\nA letter from the school supports the remark.
\nA certified copy of the applicant\u2019s national ID card
\nProof of payment of E1200.00 per EGSCE or EPCSE subject.
\nProof of payment of E2500 per IGSCE subject.<\/p>\n

2023 Form V results were released on Tuesday where 13 pupils topped, even though it had transpired that the results were the lowest in the last six years. reasons fowardered by government for the decline included COVID-19 and the political unrest of 2021.
\nThe results showed a decline in the 2023 EGSCE as it stood at 88.33%.
\nHowever, in 2022 92.58% was recorded.
\nMeanwhile, the EPCSE results improved, as the pass rate was 96.7%.<\/p>\n

The results were announced by the Minister for Education and Training, Owen Nxumalo in a press conference on Tuesday in Mbabane.
\nIn 2023, Form V pupils sat for examinations under two syllabuses; the EGCSE, and EPCSE.
\nMeanwhile, EPCSE had an overall pass rate of 96.73 per cent.
\nThe Minister said there was a decline in candidate performance when compared to 2022 and previous years.
\nThe minister observed that the national pass rate had generally declined for the EGCSE, EPCSE, and IGCSE examinations.
\nBelow are the pass rates achieved by the 2023 Form V pupils<\/b>:
\n2023 EGCSE Pass rate: 88.33 percent
\n2023 EPCSE pass rate: 96.73 percent
\n2023 IGCSE pass rate: 84.07 percent
\n2023 pass percentage by region:<\/b>
\nManzini: 29.81 per cent
\nHhohho, 25.64 percent
\nShiselweni: 23.53 percent
\nLubombo: 22.70 percent.<\/p>\n
