Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>HIS Majesty King Mswati III has urged the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the people of Namibia to honour the memory of the late President, Dr Hage Geingob, by embracing the ideals of peace and social justice that he championed throughout his illustrious life.<\/b><\/p>\n

The president ofNamibia passed on a fortnight ago after battling cancer. Geingobwas a special visitor to the country, most recently at the height of the political unrest when he served as SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation chairman As an intervention, the late president came to Eswatini in November 2022.<\/p>\n

His Majesty was speaking through Deputy Prime Minister Thuli Dladla during the late president\u2019s funeral service held in Windhoek, Namibia’s capital on Saturday, according to government\u2019s social media pages. “In this time of sorrow, let us reaffirm our commitment to upholding the values and principles that President Geingob held dear. \u201cLet us honour his memory by embracing the ideals of peace and social justice that he championed throughout his illustrious life,\u201d His Majesty the King said.<\/p>\n

He further said President Geingob’s legacy as a statesman, visionary leader, and champion of democracy resonated deeply not only within the borders of Namibia, but across the African continent and beyond.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis unwavering dedication to the advancement of his nation, coupled with his steadfast commitment to regional cooperation and global solidarity, leaves an enduring imprint on the pages of history,\u201d His Majesty reportedly said. He added that as they mourned the loss of a distinguished leader and statesman, they must also celebrate the profound impact of President<\/p>\n

His Majesty said his indomitable spirit, courage, and unwavering commitment to the service of his nation and humanity served as a timeless<\/p>\n
