Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Senators have elected three Senators to go and thank His Majesty King Mswati III for the speech he delivered during the State Opening of the First Session of the 12th Parliament.<\/b><\/p>\n

This happened yesterday during the first sitting of Senators in their chamber. Senators Prince Gcokoma, Stuky Motsa, and Tony Sibandze have been elected to accompany Senate President Lindiwe Dlamini to express gratitude on behalf of all Senators for the speech delivered by the King on February 9, when he opened Parliament.<\/p>\n

This is according to the Senate Standing Order 194, which requires Senators to thank His Majesty the King for the address he made when he opened Parliament. The Standing Order further gives the Senate President an authority to be accompanied by three Senators to thank the King. That was how the Senators mentioned above were elected.<\/p>\n

All this happened after Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini moved a motion, calling upon Senators to elect their representatives to thank the King. Motivating his motion, Dlamini said the Speech from the Throne was comprehensive and touched on almost every issue that was raised during Sibaya, where Emaswati were given an opportunity to express their grievances.<\/p>\n

After the Premier moved the motion, Senators took turns in thanking the King for giving the Speech from the Throne. Basically, the Senators were grateful for the speech they felt was aimed at ensuring that the country improved economically for the benefit of every Liswati.<\/p>\n

This comes almost two weeks after Members of Parliament (MPs) elected five MPs among themselves to go and express gratitude His Majesty for the Speech from the Throne. The five MPs elected include Hhohho Region MP Tanele Magagula, Mtfongwaneni MP Nathi \u2018Mdockies\u2019 Hlophe, Prince Mshengu, Zombodze Emuva MP Ntando Mkhonta, and Nkosungumenzi Dlamini. It was planned that the MPs would meet the King together with Senators.<\/p>\n
