Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Percy Simelane,the King\u2019s Spokesperson says, it\u2019s difficult to link the King to the language used by retiring Government Public Relations Officer(PRO) when addressing the United States(US) amid looming sanctions.<\/b><\/p>\n

This comes after Nxumalo told the US to back-off, while urging those who dream about sanctions as instruments to force States around the globe to dance to a certain political rhythm,to continue doing so.<\/p>\n

The US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations passed Resolution 174,that seeks to impose sanctions on individuals alleged to be involved in human rights violations,after the killing of human rights lawyer Thulani Rudolf Maseko.<\/p>\n

It has been reported that,the resolution is highly expected to be debated by the U.S. Congress after the US Senators lobbied each subsequent to Nxumalo\u2019s recent attack on the lawyer\u2019s widow Tanele Maseko.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet those who dream about the possibility of sanctions to be instruments of forcing States around the globe to dance to a certain political rhythm continue to do so, we wish them well in their dreams\u201d, said the Government Spokesperson in his online platform, he later failed to respond when asked to clarify the statement.<\/p>\n

When asked, if the King authorized the Government Spokesperson to blast the United States, King\u2019s Spokesperson maintained that, it was hard to link the King in Nxumalo\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n

Worth-noting, issues involving relations with other countries are addressed in line with the principles of diplomacy, something that has been lacking in Nxumalo\u2019s language, as he earlier blasted the Republic of South Africa(RSA) before taking on the United States and by doing so, he is creating more diplomatic troubles for the King.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not aware of any direct response by the King to the sanction-threats from the U S Senate save for a move by Government to address them.It would be therefore difficult for us to fairly link the King to the language used by those officials handling the matter.However,from experience we can safely say it is his wish that whatever decisions are to be taken they should be thoroughly informed and not reached half-headedly lest the people of Eswatini be punished unfairly for sins sourced from the vine\u201d, said the King\u2019s Spokesperson.<\/p>\n
