Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The financial crisis within the University of eSwatini(UNESWA) must be addressed in context, we are facing an education crisis in this country and the decision by Government to employ qualified teachers on contracts and pay them a mere five thousand Rands(R5,000.00) as a salary,forms part of the broader political mission to destroy education.<\/b><\/p>\n Indeed, the education crisis should,by this time, forming part of the public discourse with an ultimate intention to force government to release taxpayers money and fund the education institutions.<\/p>\n Education Minister Owen Nxumalo recently announced a decline in the students\u2019 performance when announcing Form V results.<\/p>\n One wonders why did Government expect good results while failing to invest in education including the human resources being the teachers?.<\/p>\n The R5000.00 salary paid to contract teachers is an insult to the Nation and this Government is lucky because emaSwati,by their nature,take time to identify a crisis until it explodes.<\/p>\n What is happening within the education system is threatening the economic stability of the country by undermining the quality of education, there\u2019s a mission here to ensure that teachers are poor with their hard earned qualifications.<\/p>\n As to what this regime seeks to achieve by frustrating teachers including Lecturers of the various Universities is clear, the target is ensure that our children remain ignorant because once they receive education,they will question those in power.<\/p>\n I am writing this because a friend of mine who works closely with the King told me some months ago that, an order was issued to destroy the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT), a few weeks later SNAT President Mbongwa Dlamini was dismissed by the Teaching Service Commission(TSC).<\/p>\n Some of us who understand what this means to the future of the country won\u2019t allow this evil Government to destroy education,we will demand accountability.<\/p>\n But apart from that, we will demand answers as to why teachers with Degrees are paid a mere R5000.00?<\/p>\n King Mswati is clearly on a mission to destroy this country and we won\u2019t allow that.<\/p>\n Source: swazilandnews<\/b><\/p>\n For More News And Analysis About Eswatini<\/a> Follow Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Zweli Martin Dlamini Africa-Press – Eswatini.
