Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Manzini Wanderers Chairperson Berger \u2018Hotline\u2019 Nxumalo has announced that Zimbabwe-born Coach Ikabort Masocha will remain with the club until the end of the season, despite the coach having initially resigned.<\/b><\/p>\n

The hub giants chairperson revealed this after this publication reported early this week that the former Moneni Pirates gaffer has resigned from his position following the team\u2019s 0-3 defeat against Mbabane Swallows on Sunday at the Mavuso Sports Centre. The humiliating loss incited anger among the team\u2019s supporters, who called for Masocha\u2019s resignation and an intervention of the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) to protect the coach was required.<\/p>\n

Decision<\/b><\/p>\n

The source said the former coach of Denver Sundowns indicated that he made the decision to leave Wanderers with immediate effect. This decision came after the team\u2019s defeat to their rivals, and bid farewell to the players following the disappointing loss. \u201cWe held a meeting with the coach to discuss the recent situation and I am pleased to confirm that he will remain with the team until the end of his contract, which expires at the conclusion of the season. \u201cThe coach was understandably distressed by the circumstances, but we were able to reassure him and encourage his continued commitment to the team. We are confident that, under his guidance, the team will be able to achieve a stronger position in the league standings by the end of the season,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Nxumalo appealed for patience from the Wanderers supporters, as the team is currently facing financial challenges. He emphasised the importance of unity and continued support from fans during this difficult period, expressing confidence that the team will overcome these obstacles and emerge stronger in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe kindly ask our supporters to exercise patience with the team, including the management committee, players and technical staff during this challenging time. \u201cIt is no secret that the club is facing difficulties, but we firmly believe that unity and a strong sense of family within our organisation will help us overcome these obstacles,\u201d he added. Meanwhile, currently, Wanderers find themselves in a precarious position, sitting third from the bottom of the league standings with only 14 points. The team\u2019s struggles have been consistent throughout the season. Masocha could not be drawn for comment at the time of compiling this report yesterday.<\/p>\n
