Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Welcome Dlamini,the Mbabane East Member of Parliament(MP) has released a statement, blasting the editor of the Nation Magazine Bheki Makhubu for belittling and calling him \u201cumuntfu waseSkomu\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

This comes after the editor,when addressing Prime Minister(PM) Russell Mmiso Dlamini during a Breakfast Meeting with editors,wondered why the PM could work with Welcome Dlamini from \u2018Skomu\u2019 in an attempt to regulate the media.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrime Minister I received information suggesting that, you are working with Welcome, really? And you want us to take you seriously? Ngeke usilandzele umuntfu wase-Skomu utsi akato regulator tsine\u201d, said the Nation Magazine editor.<\/p>\n

But MP Welcome Dlamini, a former journalist and editor of the Times,did not take kindly to Makhubu\u2019s statement, he accused him of vigorously opposing the media regulation.<\/p>\n

In a public statement sent on Friday,the MP further accused editor Makhubu of refusing to be held accountable while resorting to insults and undermining others.<\/p>\n

\u201cBheki has lived at Skom for some years and acquainted himself well with Timele Bar and Ka-Mncunu shebeen.That was while he worked for the Times of Eswatini until he was forced out of the company for an article that sought to ridicule a highly prominent member of the society.And that has always been his style of journalism-one that derives pleasure from scandalizing, insulting and looking down at other people. That is why Bheki is so vigorously opposed to any form of media regulation. He knows that his journalism style would not pass the test of such regulation. While he wants other people to be held accountable,he doesn\u2019t want the same to apply to him\u201d, said the Mbabane East MP through a statement.<\/p>\n

On another note, Dlamini said,he was a proud Skomu resident who went to KaBoyce High School, proceeded to the University of eSwatini(UNESWA), worked as journalist and now a Member of Parliament(MP).<\/p>\n
