Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Eswatini Sugar Association (ESA) has as emerged the Best Global Exporter of the Year.<\/b><\/p>\n

The company was named the winner during the Eswatini Annual Exporter Awards hosted by the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) and Business Eswatini, with support from the USAID Africa Trade and Investment Southern Africa Buy-in Activity. The runner-up was Montigny Investments followed by TQM, a textile manufacturer, in third place. The export activity being awarded in this category refers to all products exported from Eswatini to any market across the world. ESA was named the best global exporter because of its footprints beyond the country\u2019s preferential trade agreements with key trading partners such as the USA, the EU, the UK, the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and Southern African Customs Union (SACU), to expand its exports and increase market share. The company took the Best Exporter to the rest of the world award.<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s winners at the Annual Eswatini Exporter Awards included Montigny Investments, which won the overall Exporter of the Year title. They also won the Exporter of the Year Award \u2013 South African Market with the Exporter of the Year \u2013 U.S. Market being won by Golden Jubilee Apparels. The companies who have secured top positions at this year\u2019s awards in Eswatini will form part of a regional competition which will see local winners compete against other exporters from the SADC Region later this year. This year\u2019s awards ceremony also included a peer learning activity aimed at helping new and experienced exporters navigate the complexities of exporting to South Africa and the United States.<\/p>\n

The award ceremony was held last Friday at the Happy Valley Hotel. Business Eswatini Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nathi Dlamini received the awards on behalf of ESA. Sibusiso Mnisi, Manager of External Trade at EIPA congratulated all category winners and the runners-up. Mnisi said export trade formed a key part of Eswatini\u2019s economic performance every year. He said in striving for economic growth, they could not ignore the markets beyond Eswatini borders and the products offered which were well produced by local companies and in demand in these markets. Winners all categories are as follows. Entries were evaluated based on their export activity between April 2022 and March 2023.<\/p>\n
