Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Local comedy icon Gogo Eswatini, born Mduduzi Nkambule, is back with his popular educational programme, \u201cSiswati Sami Bungimi Bami, Ligcabho Lami.\u201d The programme takes place every Wednesday at 7pm and is broadcast live on Gogo Eswatini\u2019s social media pages.<\/b><\/p>\n

Launched in 2019, the programme was born from the realisation that, with modernisation, some aspects of Swati culture were at risk of being forgotten. By using social media platforms, Gogo Eswatini aims to educate the nation about its rich traditions.<\/p>\n

The comedic stage name of \u201cGogo Eswatini\u201d has \u201cGogo,\u201d which in Swati culture is the persona of a wise and respected figure in the home and society. Every local household revolves around Gogo, who traditionally holds a position of authority and wisdom. In the show, Gogo Eswatini takes responsibility and leverages that character to teach Emaswati about rich cultural values through the use of digital platforms.<\/p>\n

This week\u2019s episode will focus on the very foundation of Swati life\u2014the Swati homestead and other cultural practices. On the programme, they will look into the traditional layout of the homestead, the positioning of individual houses within it, the significance of each structure, as well as other cultural practices that are performed at home. The programme, broadcast live, allows Facebook and YouTube audiences to submit questions that Gogo Eswatini will answer in real time.<\/p>\n

When reached for comment, the comedian said: \u201cI am thrilled to be back with \u2018Siswati Sami Bungimi Bami, Ligcabho Lami.\u2019 I cannot stress enough the importance of collaboration among artists. Without partnerships, nothing can be achieved.\u201d<\/p>\n

The programme is set to feature guests, including local traditionalists, who will offer their insights on various topics alongside Gogo Eswatini\u2019s signature wit and wisdom.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe programme blends laughter with learning and takes viewers on a journey through the heart of Swazi culture. It is a way to share knowledge and empower EmaSwati to connect with their cultural heritage.\u201d Gogo added.<\/p>\n
