Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Eswatini National Trade Facilitation Committee (ENTFC) has announced the commencement of an innovative study on the Gender Dimensions of Trade Facilitation, generously supported by the World Bank.<\/b><\/p>\n

This initiative aims to delve into the intricacies of cross-bord<\/p>\n

Eswatini National Trade Facilitation Committee (ENTFC) Co-Chair E. Nathi Dlamini<\/p>\n

er trade, focusing particularly on the challenges faced by traders and customs brokers at the firm level, with a special emphasis on the experiences of women engaged in such activities.<\/p>\n

The primary objective of this survey is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the obstacles encountered by stakeholders involved in cross-border trade within Eswatini.<\/p>\n

By conducting in-depth interviews with various participants, the study aims to unearth valuable insights that will inform future trade policies and procedures, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and inclusivity of trade practices in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis study represents a significant step forward in our efforts to promote gender equality and foster a more conducive environment for trade in Eswatini,\u201d reads the statement issued by E. Nathi Dlamini, Co-Chair of the ENTFC and Chief Executive Officer of Business Eswatini.<\/p>\n

Key details of the study include interviews where the survey targets all stakeholders involved in cross-border trade and will be conducted nationwide through telephonic interviews until April 12, 2024. Each interview is estimated to last approximately 25 minutes.<\/p>\n

The statement also expressed that the privacy and confidentiality of all participants are paramount during the study and all survey responses and the identities of respondents will be treated with the strictest confidentiality, under the Data Protection Act.<\/p>\n

Further, local enumerators, selected from the University of Eswatini in collaboration with Surveya Global, will conduct the interviews.<\/p>\n

Dlamini asserted that the study presents a unique opportunity for stakeholders involved in cross-border trade to contribute their insights and experiences towards shaping the future of trade policies and procedures in Eswatini.<\/p>\n

Happy Simelane a small medium enterprise (SME) and owner in Manzini applauded the opportunity and said that she believes that by actively participating in this initiative, stakeholders can play a pivotal role in driving positive change and strengthening inclusive growth within the nation\u2019s trade sector.<\/p>\n

As the study progresses, ENTFC anticipates valuable findings that will not only address existing challenges but also pave the way for more equitable and efficient trade practices in Eswatini.<\/p>\n

Simelane further shared that for all stakeholders involved in cross-border trade, the invitation is clear that they must seize this opportunity to contribute to positive change and drive meaningful progress in our nation\u2019s trade policies and procedures.<\/p>\n
