Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>On his special day, His Majesty King Mswati III thanked emaSwati for presenting him with the most precious gift of all peace.<\/b><\/p>\n

Addressing hundreds who attended the King\u2019s birthday celebration at Mankayane Town yesterday, His Majesty reiterated that every year he asked emaSwati for the gift of peace and they did not disappoint. \u201cI would like to use this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for honouring me with this wish. As a result, the country has been able to refocus on its primary goal of improving people\u2019s lives by making significant progress towards the sustainable development goals (SDGs),\u201d His Majesty said.<\/p>\n

Commemorate<\/b><\/p>\n

The King said as the world geared up to commemorate the 2024 International Peace Day, Eswatini should emerge as a light for the globe.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s theme, His Majesty said, is, \u2018Actions for peace: Our commitment to the global goals\u2019 something which he said encouraged the Kingdom of Eswatini to pursue the SDGs with passion and dedication, as they contain the key to addressing the issues that contribute to the world\u2019s lack of peace.<\/p>\n

Tensions<\/b><\/p>\n

The King said considering all the world conflicts and tensions, emaSwati must continue to work together and serve as a beacon of hope for humanity by taking the initiative in fulfilling global peace. \u201cWhen faced with different views, let us keep our essential values of tolerance, humility, dialogue and respect in all our efforts. \u201cWe, therefore, urge the global community and all of its agencies to make every effort to achieve our SDGs and resolve conflicts as quickly as possible in order to prevent future loss of human life,\u201d His Majesty said.<\/p>\n
