Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Makoti Festival has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT).<\/b><\/p>\n

The MOU was signed on April 13 in Mbabane to allow teachers to get tickets to the festival at a discounted price. The normal price for the tickets is E300, but SNAT members who intend to attend the festival on Saturday shall buy the tickets for a discount of E50, from E300.<\/p>\n

The Makoti Festival team also added Siphesihle Nkwanyana as another MC for the festival. Nkwanyana joins South African radio and TV personalities Kedebone Mkhabela of Rise FM and Mzwakhe Tjovitjo Khumalo, who were unveiled on April 11 as the MCs for the third edition of the Makoti Festival.<\/p>\n

The Makoti Festival will be held on Saturday at the Malkerns Country Club. This was confirmed by Festival Director Thembinkosi Mthethwa. Gates will open at 11am.<\/p>\n

The festival director also highlighted that the third edition of the festival will see 11 local artists take the stage. These include: Mvelo, Lodanda Nemalangeni, Thobile Makhoyane, Bholoja, M Nation, DJ Cup, Tendeness, Jazz in Soul, Wassabee, Speech Umlangeni, and Khole.<\/p>\n

The line-up includes Grammy Award winners for Best Global Music, South African singer and songwriter Nomcebo Zikode, Lesotho artists Mavele & Tash, DJ Menkoko, DJ Tseko, and Sotho Kids. Tchakaze and a dance group, Tufo Mafalala, from Mozambique, as well as South African Gospel artists Ntokozo Mbambo, Masibuyele KuJehova, and Mthandeni SK are part of the artists to perform at the festival.<\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that last year, the second edition of the Makoti Festival was held on April 22 at the Malkerns Country Club and was attended by thousands of fun lovers. The festival was made possible by New Life Entertainment, in partnership with the Illa Penboy Foundation.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the family-oriented festival is to promote Eswatini culture. It is a celebration of modern women and young girls who aspire to be proud makotis (married women) in the near future. The festival provides fashion stalls, food stalls, and live performances. The festival is known for celebrating trendy fashion for young and old women from different backgrounds.<\/p>\n
