Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>There is a new twist in the strained relationship between some Athletics Eswatini (AE) clubs and the executive.<\/b><\/p>\n

The High Court of Eswatini has granted the aggrieved clubs an interim order compelling AE and President Zakhele Dlamini to call or convene a special general meeting within 14 days of the grant of the order. The matter was before High Court Judge Justice Sabelo Masuku, two days ago.<\/p>\n

AE and Dlamini were cited as first and second respondents in the matter, respectively. Chief Operations Officer Thoba Mazibuko and Treasurer Bongani Ntshalintshali are the third and fourth respondents, in that order. \u201cThe second to fourth respondents are ordered to present to applicant member clubs audited financial reports of the previous year and\/or convene a meeting for the general assembly to appoint auditors of the federation as per Article 13.6 of the Constitution,\u201d reads the order.<\/p>\n

The matter returns to court on May 27, this year. This is when the respondents should show cause why the order should not be made final. Meanwhile, the clubs and the AE Board had been at each other\u2019s throats since last year following the failed bid for a special general meeting. During the period, there has been endless drama ranging from the suspension of one of the petitioners in Manzini Athletics Club Coach Muzi Mabuza to a cancelled general assembly, among other things.<\/p>\n
