Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>MTN Premier League strong challengers Mbabane Swallows players have been promised a boost of E500 each as winning bonuses for the remaining matches.<\/b><\/p>\n

With three matches to go before the 2023\/24 season ends, the capital city giants are perched at the summit of the log standings with 46 points.<\/p>\n

Sources close to the matter revealed that the financial boost has been injected by one of main sponsors as a way to motivate the players in the team’s quest to challenge for honours.<\/p>\n

This, therefore means the Matsapha-based company will spend over E5 000 per game on the players. The figure excludes the technical bench and team doctors. It must be mentioned that the incentives were introduced by the management committee recently as the team is on target to win their last six matches.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe players are highly motivated following the introduction of the incentives when there were six matches remaining. The current position of the team on the log is a true testimony that incentives can improve work performance,\u201d said the source. Public Relations Officer Knowledge<\/p>\n

\u2018Bhambo\u2019 Ngwenya neither confirmed nor denied the developments. \u201cIssues of incentives are being handled by the GM. So I\u2019m not privy to such information,\u201d he said. Meanwhile, the red and white glamour side faces their traditional-rivals Mbabane Highlanders this weekend in a must-win derby game.<\/p>\n

In the past meeting, the \u2018Beautiful Birds\u2019 claimed the bragging rights after defeating the traditional rivals 3-0 in the Ingwenyama Cup semi-finals. But in the first round league match, the two sides played to a 1-1 draw.<\/p>\n

Thami Zulu opened the score-sheet for the black and white outfit, while Siyabonga Zwane for Swallows restored parity after he was introduced in the second half.<\/p>\n
