Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla assured the Federation of Persons with Disability in Eswatini (FODSWA) that her office will continue to work hand in hand with them in an effort to improve their wellbeing.<\/b><\/p>\n

Dladla said this during a courtesy visit of FODSWA President Bongani Makama this week. Dladla highlighted some programs that the DPM\u2019s office is currently undertaking to close some gaps. These include registration of their qualifications, grant increment and providing assistive devices where possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to thank parents for not hiding their children with disability. This was not the case few years back. The MPs from time to time ask for wheelchairs after identifying some cases in the communities. This is very encouraging,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Makama expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister\u2019s Office (DPMO) for Disability Grant increment from E280 to E400 per month. He stated that the FODSWA\u2019s main mandate is to magnify the voices and the rights of persons with disabilities in the country in a coordinated manner. However, he highlighted that there were still gaps in education and hiring of persons with disabilities and mentioned that from time to time they need assistive devices.<\/p>\n
