Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Percy Simelane,the King\u2019s Spokesperson has once again warned against the abuse of King Mswati\u2019s name for dishonesty gain.<\/b><\/p>\n

Simelane was reaching to an article published on Saturday, where BatfwabeNkhosi from Ka-Shewula, allegedly abused the powers of the institution of the Monarchy to grab a multimillion sugarcane project from poor residents of Mafucula.<\/p>\n

The residents who are members of Mnyangombili Farmers(Pty) Ltd were subsequently saved by High Court Judge Justice Mavuso, the Honorable Judge ordered the company to pay the poor residents their dividends.<\/p>\n

Worth-noting,the residents had established the project with the assistance of the European Union(EU) and after it started to generate revenue,the powerful traditional leaders abused the powers of the Monarchy and grabbed the project,claiming \u201cthey are BatfwabeNkhosi\u201d and the sugarcane project was within the land owned by royalty.<\/p>\n

Constitutionally,Eswatini Nation Land(ENL) is held by the King in trust for the eSwatini,the land is culturally and legally owned by emaSwati.<\/p>\n

After seizing control of the project,the alleged BatfwanaBeNkhosi from ka-Shewula, removed twenty-one(21)residents as beneficiaries of their sugar association project.<\/p>\n

As a result,some children of the poor Mafucula residents had to drop out of school due non-availability of school fees.<\/p>\n

The residents were receiving twenty-five thousand Rands(R25,000.00) each per year and the company is expected to pay them one hundred thousand Rands(R100,000.00)each as outstanding dividends for the past four(4) years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe right to use the King’s name for selfish ends does not exist.We can only hope the allegations in question will be starved soon\u201d, said the King\u2019s Spokesperson.<\/p>\n

As reported, after Judge Mavuso\u2019s judgement,the Directors of Mnyangombili Farmers who allegedly colluded with BatfwabeNkhosi to remove the residents and grab their sugarcane project,ran to Standard Bank to apply for a loan amounting to R2million,to be used in paying the residents their dividends.<\/p>\n
