Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA) has conducted a two-day workshop for tour operators to educate them more on how they can ensure sustainability in the environment they operate in.<\/b><\/p>\n

The workshop commenced yesterday (May 7, 2024), with 20 travel agencies around the country, who attended the workshop. The workshop was conducted at Sibane Sami Hotel in Ezulwini and it is expected to end today. It was facilitated by Dr Federic Thomas, who has been conducting similar workshops for the tourism industry under the International Trade Centre (ITC) program.<\/p>\n

Dr Thomas said the main objective of this training was to improve impact that the product had on the destination or environment. \u201cThe other objective is to bring competitors together to understand the importance of cooperating in improving the quality of services which are offered to domestic and international tourists,\u201d Thomas added.<\/p>\n

The workshop was achieved through financial support from European Union (EU) under the program implemented by ITC. Part of the trainings included trainees drawing up a real life itinerary that ensures sustainability and responsibility in the environment.<\/p>\n

Majaha Mamba, one of the tour operators, who works at Mgogodla Eco Village which is a growing eco preservation tourist attraction said this training will assist in finding means of improving their business in terms of providing adequate services to tourists and implement new means of bringing in traffic in the tourism sector as a community and as a country at large.<\/p>\n
