Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Government is committed to bridging the gap between all learners irrespective of their background and location.<\/b><\/p>\n

This was said by Ministry of Education and Training Under Secretary (US) Lungelo Nhlengetfwa. He said this during the opening of the 14th Southern Africa Association for Educational Assessment (SAAEA) conference today at Esibayeni Lodge in Matsapha.<\/p>\n

Nhlengetfwa was in the event in his capacity as a representative for Minister of Education and Training Owen Nxumalo. During the event, Nhlengetfwa further mentioned that the Ministry of Education and Training, with the support of the World Bank, was working to improve literacy and numeracy in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) at primary and secondary levels.<\/p>\n

Nhlengetfwa also stated that he was hopeful that the conference would be meaningful and be of great success in deliberating the future of prosperity examinations assessments and how best to achieve best results.<\/p>\n

SAAEA Chairperson Dr Moreetsa Thobega stated that the conference was special, as it was the first conference after the long pause of first years post COVID-19 pandemic and that it was hosted by the Examinations Council of Eswatini (ECESWA). He acknowledged the delegates from the different member countries that have attended the event and recognised the previous council in their excellence leadership.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe previous leadership made sure that the line where SAAEA wants to go was visible which is why after dormancy brought about COVID-19 the current SAAEA did not struggle to find footing hence this conference,\u201d Thobeka said.<\/p>\n
