Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Eswatini Youth Chamber President Sakhile Nsibande has encouraged the youth to utilise the Tinkhundla centres (constituencies) to discuss issues that affect their development.<\/b><\/p>\n

Nsibande made this call as one of the panellists during the MTN Bushfire dialogue session on Tuesday (May 21, 2024) at House on Fire, Malkerns. The focus was on youth unemployment and food security.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to understand that Eswatini operates in the context of Tinkhundla system which we can define as where the chiefs and community interact. There is a high number of unemployed youth who remain idle at home yet they have an opportunity to be productive at their Tinkhundla centres,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She emphasized that it is upon the youth to put their selves out there to serve their country in order for them to benefit.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of our Tinkhundla are not inclined to digitization and we as the youth can bring those solutions. The youth is a workforce that is an asset to the country towards development,\u201d Nsibande said.<\/p>\n

She also added that rapid urbanization presents a significant challenge for developing countries, straining infrastructure and resources in newly formed cities.<\/p>\n

\u201cEswatini, with its unique Tinkhundla system, a decentralized governance structure offers a promising opportunity to explore a development framework that leverages local strengths and fosters sustainable growth,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n
