Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Government is going to introduce lesson on the Tinkhundla system of governance in the country\u2019s schools.<\/b><\/p>\n

The administration is doing this in order to instill patriotism among Emaswati. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini said this today (Thursday, June 6, 2024) during the Cabinet\/Eswatini Editors Forum, which took place at Mountain View, Mbabane.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernment also engaged the Ministry of Education and Training to develop a curriculum to encourage patriotism at primary and high school levels, which will include lessons on our Tinkhundla system of governance,\u201d Dlamini said.<\/p>\n

He said a team of experts had been engaged to review the entire education system in the country, with the purpose of making it one of the best in Africa and a Task Team of education professionals to lead the process had been appointed.<\/p>\n

Dlamini said the vision of the current administration was shared with development partners, including all UN agencies and most foreign missions. \u201cDuring these engagements, our system of governance was unpacked and explained in detail,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Government also sought to change the budget process to focus more on service delivery and impact on communities, according to the premier. \u201cEmaswati were given the opportunity to make their own contributions to the budget this year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

As mentioned during the Sibaya People\u2019s Parliament, Government has challenged Emaswati to change their mindset in order to be proactive, patriotic and to embrace a spirit of excellence. To lay the foundation for this term\u2019s strategic direction, Government has had several engagements with many sectors of society, including the private sector and development partners.<\/p>\n

Government engaged Cabinet Ministries and Principal Secretaries to inculcate a culture of mindset transformation in order to effectively and efficiently carry out our mandate of serving Emaswati. The business community was also engaged and the vision of growing the economy was shared with them. In turn, they committed to support Government.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have also initiated the process of developing our long-term plan and a programme of action that addresses Sibaya concerns,\u201d the prime minister concluded.<\/p>\n
