Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, has announced that the country will be hosting the first annual COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB) Southern Sub-Regional Summit from today to Saturday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister said the key focus of the summit would be the promotion of business to business linkages, development of regional commodity value chains among the member countries, sharing of success stories on regional and national economic integration and the approval of the sub-regional work plan and budget.<\/p>\n

The programme of the summit, according to the minister, would entail presentations on major projects by the other regional chapters and Secretariat on trade opportunities and linkages.<\/p>\n

\u201cSite tours will also be done for Eswatini Chapter major projects,\u201d he said.
\nKhumalo added that the summit would be attended by representatives of COMFWB Chapters from Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe summit will conclude with the adoption of a communiqu\u00e9 highlighting the key areas of collaboration to be implemented thereafter,\u201d said Khumalo.<\/p>\n

COMFWB Eswatini Chapter Chairperson; Manzini South Member of Parliament Thandi Nxumalo said they were looking forward to this summit as the Eswatini chapter.<\/p>\n

Nxumalo thanked government for the support that they had been showing the Eswatini chapter and that it was their support that won the best chapter in Africa award.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnything we have asked for from the government they have provided for us,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She further extended her appreciation the support that the nation was giving women in business in the different Tinkhundla in the country and that this worked well with their current target which is the mobilization of all the women in the country into business.<\/p>\n

\u201cRecently, we were presented with land from Mdumezulu by Chief Kusa. And I hope through this, other chiefs will follow suit,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
