Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Taiwan African Vegetable Initiative (TAVI) Project has launched over E120 000 in partnership with the Standard Bank Luju Festival.<\/b><\/p>\n

When confirming the deal, Communications Officer Nontobeko Mbuyane, said the Taiwan Africa Vegetable Initiative (TAVI) aims to improve the nutritional diets and safeguard vegetable biodiversity.<\/p>\n

She stated that the project saw it fitting to partner and participate in the Luju Festival as the theme for this year was directly advancing their project\u2019s key objectives, advocating for the consumption of indigenous African vegetables.<\/p>\n

She said TAVI addressed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that sought to tackle issues around hunger, poverty, and livelihoods.<\/p>\n

the partnership indeed saw them at this year\u2019s Luju Festival stall, where they were disseminating information on traditional vegetables, preparing the vegetables for nutritional benefits, and a food-tasting stall of the vegetables after being cooked into different dishes.<\/p>\n

TAVI has received support from the Taiwanese Government for more than three years now, and is dedicated to improving the well-being of Emaswati, added Mbuyane.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis project is currently implemented by the World Vegetable Centre in the four regions of the country and has been integrated into the country\u2019s school feeding program which helps pupils by providing them with nutritious diets as well as their families,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Mbuyane also thanked the Ministry of Agriculture, who they work collaboratively with as their key partner in the country.<\/p>\n

She elaborated that the ministry had been the driving force behind the success of all our activities.<\/p>\n
