Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Government has done an incredible job by hypnotising us into demonising fellow men and women from our societies who aspire to restore national pride. The regime has, in the past, weathered the storm, but this time around chances of survival are bleak.The economic quagmire has unleashed the concealed socio-political troubles of the land.<\/p>\n

Problem<\/b><\/p>\n

Now we are running helter-skelter looking for money, which will not solve the problem, but will blind us further into thinking that everything is okay. There is money in Eswatini, but it\u2019s not in circulation, meaning that there are people breaking the cycle. People of Asian origin don\u2019t bank their money in financial institutions but in ceilings, under carpets and rugs. We need tough laws to curb this otherwise, our economy will crash and rise no more.<\/p>\n

Factors<\/b><\/p>\n

It would be useless to go through the hardships we are prepared to go through if we do not look at other factors that have led to our economy being on the brink of collapse. We can talk of corruption, nepotism in government but when the economy is tampered with at grassroots level, then we ought to know that it will take more than an all-inclusive government to rebuild the damaged economy. What is happening is tantamount to exporting the money and get nothing in return, which is an unfair \u2018deal\u2019. Our government must find a way to deal with this issue and it must also focus on empowering locals to start businesses. That would be a good move otherwise, eradicating poverty will remain a dream.<\/p>\n

What we also need to do as a country is to spur agriculture, which would be a start of revamping the grassroots level of the economy. Let us get people to concentrate on commercial farming and less on subsistence farming because subsistence farming is a drain and comes with financial constraints. People need to understand that decent money can be generated through farming and then there would be no point of being enslaved in the cities by working long odd hours to earn peanuts.<\/p>\n
