Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) has been urged by Minister of Labour and Social Security Phila Buthelezi to ensure that it transforms and digitises its services.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister said ENPF, being a social security scheme, was at the centre of government\u2019s priority of the country\u2019s strategic roadmap 2019-2022 which is to ensure a social safety net.<\/p>\n

The minister said this during thefourth Stakeholder Forum programme held at Happy Valley Hotel yesterday.<\/p>\n

He said in performing this important mandate, the fund has to absolutely ensure that it transforms and digitises its service offering.<\/p>\n

\u201cDigital transformation has the benefit of increasing returns as operational costs decline. These returns are the ones to be enjoyed by the members when they reach old age or become incapacitated and that is what we all want to see from the fund,\u201d the minister stated.<\/p>\n

The minister said digital transformation by the ENPF may not attain the intended benefits in isolation, adding that government and all various stakeholders must also be seen playing their role. The minister noted that technological advancements come with challenges such as cybercrime, but said government was already working with all stakeholders to ensure they overcome these.<\/p>\n

He appreciated that the ENPF was investing in technologies aimed at advancing the lives of its members and the nation. He said as government, they expected the organisation to continue developing, offering first class service and sharing knowledge with the rest of Africa and the world at large to ensure it remains on top.<\/p>\n

According to the minister, markets are volatile, business models are changing rapidly, new capabilities need to be built and the organisation needs to adapt with great agility. ENPF Board Chairperson Mashumi Shongwe said the pandemic has shown the importance of embracing technology and digitising business processes. He said anecdotal evidence indicated that many businesses that were significantly affected by the pandemic were those that were lagging in terms of digital transformation.<\/p>\n

He said for the fund to keep pace with the fast-changing business environment and remain competitive, sustainable and relevant to members and stakeholders, they should be seen moving with speed and digitise service delivery processes.<\/p>\n
