Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>As schools close for the year and the reporting week begins, teachers are urging learners not to despair if their performance has fallen short of expectations.<\/b><\/p>\n

Instead, they advise students to reflect on their academic journey, identify areas for improvement, and prepare for a better year ahead.<\/p>\n

The Eswatini Daily News spoke to four teachers who shared words of encouragement and advice for learners.<\/p>\n

Ngcebo Hlophe, a teacher from Mkhuzweni High School in the Manzini region, emphasized the importance of perseverance.<\/p>\n

\u201cFailure is not the end, but an opportunity to learn and grow,\u201d said Hlophe. \u201cLearners who didn\u2019t perform well should not be discouraged.<\/p>\n

Reflect on what went wrong, seek help from teachers or peers, and set clear goals for next year.\u201d He also reminded learners to use the holiday season as a time to recharge and refocus.<\/p>\n

Another teacher was Sibongile Dlamini, a primary school teacher at one of the schools in Nhlangano, who encouraged younger learners to develop a love for reading and curiosity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe foundation is very important. Use this time to read books, explore new hobbies, and practice basic skills. Remember, learning happens everywhere, not just in the classroom,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Dlamini also stressed the importance of family support in helping learners build confidence and resilience.<\/p>\n

From Hhohho region, a history teacher Mandla Gamedze in one of the schools in the region highlighted the value of self-discipline. \u201cSuccess requires effort and consistency,\u201d Gamedze stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven during the holidays, spend a little time reviewing difficult subjects. Small, consistent efforts can lead to big improvements.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gamedze urged learners to strike a balance between rest and productive activities.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Phindile Mavimbela from one of the schools in Lubombo region advised learners to embrace the spirit of teamwork as it stimulates growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cDiscuss your challenges with friends and form study groups. Collaborative learning helps build confidence and makes tough topics easier to understand,\u201d said Mavimbela.<\/p>\n

The teachers also shared a unified message about personal safety during the festive season. Hlophe urged students to avoid risky behaviors and to be cautious on the roads and in their communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cTake care of yourselves and those around you. The holiday season should be about joy, not regret,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

As the year wraps up, these educators remind learners that every setback is a steppingstone to success.<\/p>\n

With determination and the right attitude, they encouraged the learners to turn challenges into opportunities for growth.<\/p>\n
