Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Emabutfo (warriors) were overwhelmed with joy upon learning that His Majesty King Mswati III had gifted them E33 million as a token of gratitude for their participation in the Incwala Ceremony.<\/b><\/p>\n

The announcement was made by Indvuna Finyeza Mncina at Ngabezweni Royal Residence on Saturday, January 4, 2025. Acting under royal instructions, Mncina conveyed the king\u2019s heartfelt appreciation and disclosed that an additional 377 cows had been reserved for the warriors, ensuring they returned to their homes with provisions.<\/p>\n

Mncina also assured the warriors that letters would be issued to those who attended the cultural ceremony, to serve as proof for their employers of their participation in Incwala. The King\u2019s Office would oversee the fair distribution of the E33 million, addressing potential challenges before the warriors dispersed.<\/p>\n

The dispersal marked the conclusion of the Incwala Ceremony, following the weeding of the royal fields. Emabutfo undertook this task with dedication and joy, a reflection of their reverence for the cultural tradition that began with the Little Incwala on December 1, 2024.<\/p>\n

The ceremony saw Emabutfo and Ingaja (young warriors) participating in various activities, including the collection of the sacred shrub, Lusekwane, under the king\u2019s leadership. The shrub was ceremoniously delivered to Ludzidzini Royal Residence, where His Majesty expressed his approval.<\/p>\n

Public celebrations on December 18, 2024, invited participation from Emaswati and international visitors, culminating in the burning of the sacred log on December 20, 2024. This event featured traditional dances and symbolized the start of the weeding of the royal fields.<\/p>\n

In his address, the king thanked Emabutfo for their involvement, emphasizing the importance of such cultural ceremonies in fostering unity among Emaswati. He encouraged them to continue their active participation in preserving and celebrating Swazi traditions.<\/p>\n
