Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>High Court Judge Bongani S. Dlamini has called on the Ingwenyama Cup Competitions Committee (CC) and Manzini Wanderers to reach an amicable resolution regarding the club\u2019s exclusion from the tournament\u2019s last 32 draw. The court will deliver its ruling on the matter.<\/b><\/p>\n

Judge Dlamini noted that there was no clear justification for excluding Manzini Wanderers from the tournament. He advised the committee to consider allowing the team to participate under the standby slot as a potential resolution.<\/p>\n

The case was heard this morning after being postponed from Thursday. Advocate Mduduzi Mabila and Charlie Jele of SM Jele Attorneys represented Manzini Wanderers, while the Ingwenyama Cup Competitions Committee, the first respondent, was represented by Sabela Dlamini. Mluleki Ndlangamandla appeared on behalf of the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE), the third respondent.<\/p>\n

The Ingwenyama Cup is set to begin tomorrow, with the grand opening scheduled for Sunday at the Mavuso Sports Centre. Currently, Sisonkhe FC has been allocated the standby slot, which Manzini Wanderers is seeking to claim. However, the team currently holds no official status as either a Premier League or First Division team.<\/p>\n

Judge Dlamini acknowledged the complexity of the situation, noting that the pending appeal at the Supreme Court, scheduled for February 10, complicates matters further. This appeal relates to a decision by Moneni Pirates and Denver Sundowns, which overturned the PLE\u2019s relegation of Manzini Wanderers.<\/p>\n

Both parties were encouraged to prioritize the spirit of football and collaborate on a solution that would allow the sport to emerge victorious. Wanderers emphasized their readiness to play, referencing their participation in the 8bet Trade Fair Cup last September.<\/p>\n
