Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) took a significant step in strengthening regional sporting ties by holding its first official meeting with the Namibia National Olympic Committee (NNOC) on 12 July 2025.<\/b><\/p>\n

The high-level engagement took place at the NNOC offices in Windhoek, Namibia, on the sidelines of the Region 5 Youth Games. The meeting marked a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two organisations in April 2025 in Algiers, Algeria, and laid the foundation for deeper collaboration in areas of sports development, athlete support, and organisational partnerships.<\/p>\n

Representing Eswatini were EOCGA President Adam \u201cBomber\u201d Mthethwa, CEO Maxwell Jele, and Board Member Victor \u201cMavikane\u201d Dlamini, who met with the Namibian delegation led by NNOC President Dr. Ndeulipula Hamutumwa.<\/p>\n

Discussions between the two National Olympic Committees centred on the implementation of the MoU, mutual support in athlete preparation for major international competitions, and shared best practices in sports governance. The two organisations also explored opportunities for technical exchanges, joint training camps, and future regional cooperation initiatives.<\/p>\n

The meeting symbolised not only the growing cooperation between Eswatini and Namibia in sports administration but also the broader vision of unity and progress among African Olympic bodies.<\/p>\n

As the Region 5 Youth Games wrapped up on 13 July, the dialogue between EOCGA and NNOC stood out as a highlight, showcasing how international sporting events can also serve as platforms for strategic leadership engagements.<\/p>\n
