Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Lobamba is alive with colour and song as hundreds of thousands of maidens, imbali regiment, make their way to Ludzidzini Royal Residence for the 2025 Umhlanga Reed Dance.<\/b><\/p>\n

Today marks the first phase of this treasured cultural celebration. The young women will begin by registering and later dance before Their Majesties, where they will also receive important instructions.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow, the energy will shift to Ngabezweni Royal Residence, where His Majesty King Mswati III is expected to commission the maidens to fetch reed at Mpisi Farm and Bhamusakhe. The reed will later be presented at Ludzidzini in a colourful display of unity, tradition, and respect.<\/p>\n

The Umhlanga Reed Dance continues to shine as one of Africa\u2019s most celebrated cultural festivals, drawing admiration locally and internationally for its display of discipline, heritage, and the pride of Eswatini\u2019s youth.<\/p>\n
