Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>IT\u2019S good news for football lovers as they will now be able to watch Sihlangu Semnikati games during the COSAFA Cup.<\/b><\/p>\n

This follows the return of spectators to the annual COSAFA Cupfor the first time since 2019 before the COVID -19 outbreak.<\/p>\n

Football fans in the country have been itching to watch the national team in action as they have been barred from attending the national team\u2019s AFCON 2023 home qualifiers in Johannesburg, South Africa due to the CAF ban on both the Somhlolo National Stadium and Mavuso Sports Centre.<\/p>\n

The Dominic Kunene-led charges will take on Malawi, Lesotho and Mauritius between July 5-17 in group B.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made by the KZN Provincial MEC for Sport, Art and Culture Hlengiwe Mavimbela during the draw conducted on Tuesday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.<\/p>\n

Mavimbela said the tournament would bring excitement to KwaZulu Natal as it was taking place at a time when the province was recovering from the destructive floods and other recent events that caused devastation in the province.<\/p>\n

Regulations<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWe call upon football lovers in KZN who meet the set criteria in relation to COVID- 19 regulations to come out in numbers to support all the teams participating in the COSAFA Cup. We looking forward to welcoming the senior men\u2019s teams from our region who will be competing in this tournament,\u201dsaid Mavimbela.<\/p>\n

She said venues may only be filled to 50 per cent capacity and supporters must produce either a vaccination certificate or a PCR test not older than 72hours.<\/p>\n

The availability of tickets will be announced and published in the coming days.<\/p>\n

Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe said they were still going to receive the news from COSAFA.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are guided by COSAFA concerning the tournament, so we cannot comment on this issue until we receive a formal update from them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Eswatini Football Supporters Association (EFSA) Chairman Menzi \u2018Madlakadlaka\u2019 Dladla said they were happy with the latest development.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are quite excited that we will now be able to watch the national team outside the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will certainly make arrangements to attend the matches in order to boost the morale of our players,\u201d?he said.<\/p>\n
