Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) is set to raise the bar for swimming development in the country by hosting a Coaches and Athletes Clinic, facilitated by renowned international coach, Anisa Nelson.<\/b><\/p>\n

The clinic, which is part of ESA\u2019s mandate to strengthen grassroots and elite swimming in the Kingdom, will run over three sessions between October and November 2025. The first session, dedicated to coaches, will be held on Saturday, 04 October 2025, followed by an athlete-focused clinic on 11 October 2025, and closing with an athlete stroke correction session on 01 November 2025.<\/p>\n

Coach Nelson brings with her a wealth of experience, having served as Head Coach at HTX Swims in Houston, Assistant Coach for the University of Montevallo Falcons in Alabama, and also serving as a National Representative for USA Swimming. She holds a Master\u2019s Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston and has worked extensively with age-group swimmers of diverse backgrounds, from middle school to university level.<\/p>\n

Participation in the clinic comes with a certificate of participation, provided that coaches and athletes attend a minimum of two out of the three sessions. ESA has made it clear that coaches must be fully registered with the association and have their affiliation fees paid up.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the importance of the initiative, ESA\u2019s CEO Nozipho Mahlalela emphasized the dual investment in both athletes and coaches:<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of our strategic pillars is ensuring that we invest in our coaches and athletes concurrently in order to achieve elite performance. The coaches play a crucial role in developing and improving the performance of our athletes. Without the crop of coaches that invest tirelessly to the growth of swimming in our country we would not celebrate the victories we witnessed on home soil at XXI Africa Aquatics Zone IV Championships 2025. We aim to continuously support the capacitation and recognition of our local coaches, because through them we will produce world class athletes,\u201d said Mahlalela.<\/p>\n

This clinic marks another step in ESA\u2019s ongoing efforts to bridge international expertise with local talent, laying the foundation for producing swimmers who can not only compete but excel at continental and global levels.<\/p>\n
