Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>African Tourism Board (ATB) has invited locals to participate in Imagine Africa 2063 conference, festival and carnival to be held on the last week of November 2022 at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
\n<\/b>
\nEswatini ATB Chief Administration Officer Sandile Magongo said as one of the partners of this event, they encourage locals to participate in such a great event.<\/p>\n

He said the event would focus on investment opportunities, tourism and culture, adding that it would be held on an annual basis.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe event engages the whole Kaza region by including the share-ability of experiences available within the regions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He said the event was inspired by Africa Union’s Agenda 2063 and the vision for the African Renaissance, which is a blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into a global powerhouse.<\/p>\n

Manifestation<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThe continent’s strategic framework aims to deliver on its goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan Africanism and African Renaissance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that the event would be hosting corporations, governmental and non-governmental organisations, educational institutions as well as thousands of local, regional and-international visitors.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will entail technology, culture, art, cuisine, tourism, investment, and connection opportunities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cImagine Africa 2063 will host a balanced mix of an influential and high profile delegations by special invitation, such as kings and queens, investors, ministers, presidents, ambassadors, CEOs and iconic brands to an experience hosted mainly on the magnificent outside lawns of the Elephant Hills Hotel in the world-renowned Victoria Falls,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Colourful<\/p>\n

He mentioned that the event would demonstrate diverse afro-centric cuisine, an array of unique and colourful African heritage and place the continent at the forefront of investment and technology through interactive experiences and digital content broadcast on local, regional and international media platforms.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe aim of this event is to give Africa the exposure it deserves and attract business interest and investment across the continent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

African Tourism Board in March launched its head office in the country, which is located in Eswatini National Museum Building at Lobamba. Magongo said as ATB, it was their mission to foster and facilitate trade and investment into African tourism. \u201cATB serves to be a catalyst responsible for intra as well as inter African tourism for both business as well as leisure,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Magongo encouraged citizens to travel within the continent and within Eswatini to begin with.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfricans ought to explore the beauty and rich cultural diversity offered by each African country.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to say the continent\u2019s biggest selling point was the cultural diversity, natural habitat with its flora and fonda, the rich heritage which sometimes can be interlinked from country to country as well as the wild life breathtaking scenery.<\/p>\n

He made an example of the Okavango Delta, a vast inland river delta in northern Botswana connecting four countries.<\/p>\n

The work of the ATB entails enabling organisations to gain visibility on a local, regional as well as an international and global scale.<\/p>\n

He also said they provided businesses within the tourism space access to essential information and networks as well as the opportunity to share and exchange expertise and engage with member countries, organisations and individuals.<\/p>\n

ATB also fosters partnerships between members, who may be within the private and or public sector as well as those inside and outside of the African tourism ecosystem.<\/p>\n
