Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>From 20 October 2025, Eswatini will mark a significant milestone in modernising and decentralising public service delivery.<\/b><\/p>\n

The partnership between The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) and the Eswatini Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (EPTC) will allow citizens to access and pay for various government services at their nearest post offices in addition to the current Government Revenue offices.<\/p>\n

Pay for Government Services at Post Offices<\/b><\/p>\n

Paying for government services is now easier and more convenient. In addition to Government Revenue Offices, you can now make payments for a range of government services at your nearest Post Office.<\/p>\n

16 Sites Ready to Serve<\/b><\/p>\n

The initial rollout encompasses 16 post offices<\/b> across four regions, laying the groundwork for national expansion to all 35 sites under the partnership.<\/p>\n

From these locations, citizens can process and pay for the following services:<\/p>\n

Ministry of Commerce<\/b>: Trading and liquor licences, company registration<\/p>\n

Ministry of Home Affairs<\/b>: Birth, marriage, and death certificates, passports, travel documents, national IDs, permits, and visas<\/p>\n

Ministry of Public Works and Transport<\/b>: Drivers\u2019 licences, professional driving permits, vehicle registration and renewal, change of ownership, engine number changes, vehicle cancellations and many more.<\/p>\n

A Partnership Rooted in Service and Accessibility<\/b><\/p>\n

At the launch event, EPTC Acting Managing Director Lungile Nxumalo described the collaboration as a proud moment for Eswatini Post, reflecting the organisation\u2019s mission to bring essential services closer to the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis partnership embodies what Eswatini Post stands for, ensuring that no Liswati is left behind in accessing key services,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

With over 30 post offices nationwide, Eswatini Post has evolved from a mail and parcel service to a versatile hub offering money transfers, utility payments, and insurance collections. This partnership expands citizens\u2019 access to government revenue services through its network.<\/p>\n

Expanding Access Nationwide<\/b><\/p>\n

For ERS, the partnership with EPTC aligns with its transformation agenda. ERS Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule noted that this collaboration is part of implementing the Second Schedule of the Revenue Act of 2008, which consolidates revenue collection under ERS while allowing line ministries to retain administrative functions.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, we will begin with 16 strategically located post offices, with additional sites phased in progressively,\u201d said Nkambule. \u201cThis is a game-changer for citizens, expanding access and reducing travel time and costs.\u201d<\/p>\n

This initiative marks Phase II of the Revenue Takeover, following Phase I in April 2024, where ERS began collecting trading licence and company registration fees. With Phase II, the transfer of remaining revenue laws from the Ministry of Finance\u2019s Treasury Department to ERS is now complete, centralising and modernising revenue collection.<\/p>\n

Technology, Trust, and Transformation<\/b><\/p>\n

The partnership comes as ERS undergoes significant digital transformation, investing in automation and customer experience. Between March 2022 and March 2025, its Net Promoter Score (NPS) rose from 6.7% to an impressive 77%.<\/p>\n

ERS will continue tracking customer feedback to maintain accountability and improve services.<\/p>\n

A Win for Citizens<\/b><\/p>\n

For rural communities, the ability to make payments at nearby post offices saves time and money. For the Government, this partnership enhances compliance, improves revenue collection efficiency, and supports Eswatini\u2019s digital government goals.<\/p>\n
