Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla has handed over three brand-new homes to families affected by unrest and unsafe living conditions, providing relief and security to communities in Timbutini, Makholweni, and Lozitha.<\/b><\/p>\n

The first house was handed to Ka Gogo Mamane Simelane of Timbutini, Mafutseni Inkhundla, whose home was destroyed during civil unrest. Miraculously, Simelane and her five children escaped the fire thanks to a timely warning from a dream.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the fire, I lost everything and was left with only the nightdress I was wearing,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

In Makholweni, Manzini North, Sijabulile Tsabedze received a home after caring for her siblings following the passing of their parents. Her previous dwelling, a fragile stick-and-mud structure, was at risk of collapse.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis house gives my siblings and me a safe place to live,\u201d Tsabedze said.<\/p>\n

The final handover took place in Lozitha, Ludzeludze Inkhundla, where Nomsa Lukhele received a new home and toilet. She expressed gratitude to His Majesty the King, acknowledging that she could not have afforded the construction herself.<\/p>\n

Deputy Prime Minister Dladla thanked the Member of Parliament who alerted her office to Simelane\u2019s situation and emphasised the importance of national unity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe urge all EmaSwati to come together to build our country, not destroy it. The funds used to repair damage from unrest could have been invested in projects to improve our communities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Each three-room house comprises two bedrooms, a bathroom, toilet, and water tank, costing approximately E180 000, inclusive of labour. The construction was completed through a partnership between the Deputy Prime Minister\u2019s Office and the National Disaster Management Agency.<\/p>\n

The handovers underscore the government\u2019s ongoing commitment to rebuilding communities, providing safe shelter, and restoring dignity to families affected by disasters or unsafe housing.<\/p>\n
