This injection arrived in Eswatini on 18 November 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister highlighted the continued threat of HIV\/AIDS in the country, noting, \u201cEvery year, 4 000 young people contract new HIV infections, while 2 800 people lose their lives to HIV\/AIDS. It is the responsibility of every citizen to ensure they are not counted among these alarming statistics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He urged married couples to remain faithful, youth to delay sexual activity and focus on education, and the nation to reject stigma, which continues to hinder progress in the HIV response. \u201cStigma continues to hinder our progress in the HIV response, and we must stand firm against it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><b>Key Advantages of Lenacapavir Include:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Two injections per year for continuous prevention<\/p>\n<p>High efficiency validated through global clinical trials<\/p>\n<p>Greater privacy and convenience, reducing the burden of daily pills<\/p>\n<p>A strong option for women, youth, and key populations who remain disproportionately affected<\/p>\n<p>While celebrating the innovation, the Prime Minister reminded citizens that vigilance is still essential. \u201cReaching a stage where the virus is suppressed does not mean HIV has been eradicated. Challenges such as economic vulnerability, social instability, and reduced funding continue to affect our fight against HIV. Our work remains extensive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also encouraged Emaswati to adopt prevention strategies, including avoiding multiple and unknown sexual partners, using condoms, medical male circumcision, PrEP, and proper use of antiretroviral therapy. \u201cThese measures do not only limit infection but also teach people to take responsibility for their health and the health of others,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mbabane East Member of Parliament Welcome Dlamini supported the Prime Minister\u2019s message, cautioning that, \u201cEven with Lenacapavir, this injectable does not protect against other STIs.
